  • Currently, I had really good experience with 160 Trump Place so I'd like to share with you guys. I lived in a beautiful river view corner unit from 2013 to 2014. Of course, every rental property has pros & cons but overall I had a good time with nice amenities and kind staffs. Currently I got my really important mail delivered to here and I have been there a day ago. The receptionist Sofie remembered me and she helped me so much. She even called me twice to calm me down and called everywhere to find my mail. She was kind and professional for whole time and now I understand why this building is a truly luxury one. It is easy to make nice looking front desk and kind staff while you live in the property. But not so many so called luxury buildings care about their previous tenant even after they move out. Thank you again Sofie, for your kindness and professionalism.

Overall our move in experience at 160 Trump Place was problematic: Firstly, we were pressed by the leasing office to start our lease on March 26 (a questionable action by the leasing office since from Day 1 of our apartment search at Trump Place, we clearly stated that our desired start date was April 15th - the leasing office retorted that many Manhattan apartment dwellers paid dual rents before taking possession of their apartments!)... But also as we were being pressured to take immediate possession of the apartment, it is subsequently clear that the apartment WAS NOT fully ready for occupancy for the compromised move in date pressed upon us: April 1. Unresolved problems (as of this date- April 8th) include no blinds in living room (which were promised before our move in date), repeated peeling of bathroom vanity caulking (resulting in having to ask for a 3rd recaulking of same bathroom area: this has been complicated as of this date by surly maintenance staff (4/8/16) who acted too flippant and disrespectful for the amount of rent being paid and twice having failed previously to handle the problem); and questionable sales tactics by the leasing office regarding the parking garage fee - we were told by the leasing agent that we would be able to pay THE SAME parking rate as we are currently paying ($375/month): When I called the Quik Parking Garage sales office regarding securing a monthly parking spot, I was immediately rebuffed in the notion of paying $375/month and negotiated a rate of $400/month...BUT when bringing my car to the 160 Trump Place garage, the parking manager told me that I would most likely have to have to pay a rate of $465/month! ...My wife and I were warned to be careful when dealing with Equity regarding their Trump Place buildings - and sadly, we have found much to make us wary...But to be balanced in this review - the plus side of living at Trump Place is the front desk staff and doormen who are helpful and cheerful, in particular Walter, Willie, Singh and Sophia; as well as excellent maintenance guy - Raphael. As first stated, our move in experience has been problematic...Proceed with caution.
